George, Charlotte and Louis to miss star-studded outing with Prince William and Princess Kate

The Prince and Princess of Wales are in for a super cool night next week, but their three kids won’t be part of the fun, and there’s a good reason.

Prince William and Kate, who is 41, will hang out with Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel to watch the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall next Thursday.

Even though the show is after school hours, Prince George (ten), Princess Charlotte (eight), and Prince Louis (five) won’t be with their parents in the royal box.

In 2019, when William and Kate went to the event at the London Palladium, the Princess shared that their little ones were excited about where they were going and asked if they could tag along. But the royal mom had to be the bearer of bad news: “Not on a school night!”

George is in Year Six at Lambrook preparatory school in Berkshire, while Charlotte and Louis are in Year Four and Year One.

Future king George recently tackled his first major tests, probably entrance exams for his future school.

The Royal Variety Performance, hosted by Bradley Walsh from The Chase, will showcase acts like Cher, a celebration of Disney’s 100 years, and the 2023 Britain’s Got Talent winner, comedian Viggo Venn.

The casts of The Lion King, Frozen, Aladdin, Hercules, and Beauty & The Beast will perform for Disney’s anniversary.

The pop-rock band McFly, singer Rick Astley, pop singer Zara Larsson, and singer-songwriter Paloma Faith are also hitting the stage, along with Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, who will perform with the English National Opera (ENO) chorus.

The night will also feature singer and actress Beverley Knight alongside the cast of Sister Act, the Argentinian dancing troupe Malevo, and a magical performance from Derren Brown’s West End creation Unbelievable.

There’s also a tribute to theatre producer Bill Kenwright from Spice Girls singer Melanie Chisholm, and pianist Lang Lang will join forces with the teenage winner of Channel 4’s competition show The Piano, Lucy.

This will be William and Kate’s fifth time at the show, having attended in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2021.

The Princess has dazzled in various beautiful evening gowns, including an ice-blue embellished Jenny Packham number and a black lace McQueen dress.

William and Kate have a busy few weeks leading up to the festive season, with the Princess’ Christmas carol concert set to take place on December 8 at Westminster Abbey.
