The Prince and Princess of Wales recently had a busy day in Birmingham, where they celebrated the city’s diverse culture and heritage, met with local business owners, and interacted with members of the public.
During the outing, a member of the public complimented Kate’s beautiful burgundy midi dress from Karen Millen. The comment prompted William to sweetly respond that she always looks stunning, which garnered a few sweet responses from the gathered crowds.
Kate’s dress featured a deep-V neckline, nipped-in belted waist, and pleated skirt. She wore her hair loose and long with her signature soft curls, and minimal makeup, as usual. The royal paired the dress with matching heels, completing her elegant look.
While in Birmingham, William also opened up about one of his biggest regrets, which was not learning to breakdance when he was young. He expressed his admiration for a young woman who taught at a local dance center and spoke with an author who wrote his first fantasy book at 16.
The most notable part of the day came when the royal couple visited a family-run restaurant, where Prince William attempted to book a couple in for a table for two. The couple who made the reservation, Vinay Aggarwal and Ankita Gulati, honored their 2.15 pm booking and were shocked to learn that Prince William had taken their reservation. They didn’t recognize his voice when he spoke to them.
In the restaurant’s kitchen, the royal couple tried their hand at making roti, a simple flatbread often served with cooked vegetables and curries. Dhiraj Sharma, who helps run the restaurant founded by his parents, Meena and Rakesh, told HELLO! that customers were amazed when they found out that Prince William had taken their booking. The customers had traveled from London and were completely taken aback by the unexpected encounter.
Overall, the day was a huge success for the Prince and Princess of Wales. They showcased their down-to-earth and relatable personalities by engaging with the public and participating in the activities, making for a memorable visit to the vibrant city of Birmingham.
