Why Prince Louis and Prince Archie are NOT serving as coronation page boys like Prince George

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince George, the eldest grandchild of King Charles, will have a special role at the coronation on May 6th. The nine-year-old will be one of four Pages of Honour to the King, alongside three children of family friends: Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Nicholas Barclay, and Ralph Tollemache.

The Queen’s Pages of Honour will be her grandsons Gus and Louis Lopes, Freddy Parker Bowles, and her great-nephew Arthur Elliot. The decision to involve family members in the historic event reflects the King and Queen’s desire to include their loved ones.

However, some royal watchers have questioned why Prince Louis and Prince Archie were not given official roles. The answer is likely down to their young age. Prince Louis is just four years old and, given the importance and scale of the event, the King and the Prince and Princess of Wales may have felt it would have been too much for the young prince.

The same is true for Prince Archie, who will celebrate his fourth birthday on the same day as the coronation. Ever since the Sussexes relocated to Montecito and ceased being working royals, Archie has rarely been seen in public. Considering his young age, it would have been a very intimidating experience for him to have an official role at the coronation.

While the attendance of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the event has been the subject of much speculation, the couple has now sent their RSVP. Royal watchers are now speculating whether Harry will attend by himself or with his wife, Meghan. However, it seems increasingly unlikely that their children, Archie and Lilibet, will attend. Prince Harry has said that he believes it is “too dangerous” to bring his children to the UK.

In conclusion, the involvement of family members in the coronation reflects the King and Queen’s desire to include their loved ones in the historic event. However, the decision not to give official roles to young Prince Louis and Prince Archie is likely due to their young age. The attendance of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the event has been confirmed, but it seems unlikely that their children will attend.
