 On March 14, 2023, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands made a working visit to various projects in the country, focusing on promoting equal opportunity and mental health for children and young people.

During her visit to ’s-Hertogenbosch, Queen Maxima met with the Equal Opportunity Community, a group of over a hundred participants working towards promoting equal opportunity through the “Talent Counts” action program. The focus of the working visit was on the equality of opportunity for children and young people.

The “Talent Counts” program focuses on identifying and nurturing the talents of children and young people from all backgrounds to ensure that they have equal opportunities to succeed. By promoting equal opportunities, the program aims to create a fairer and more just society.

During her visit, Queen Maxima had the opportunity to meet with members of the Equal Opportunity Community, including young people who have benefited from the program. As Honorary President of MIND Us, Queen Maxima also visited the Christian School Community De Goudse Waarden in Gouda, where she learned about the influence of sport on the mental health of young people.

MIND Us is an organization that works towards the healthy development of young people to become more resilient and to manage their mental health. The organization recognizes the importance of sport and physical activity in promoting mental health and well-being, particularly among young people.
