Numerous striking similarities have been observed between the latest generation of royal family members and their relatives. A photograph from Princess Beatrice’s childhood has been discovered by HELLO! magazine, in which she bears an uncanny resemblance to Princess Charlotte.
The eight-year-old daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales is well-known for her attire, often seen wearing hand-smocked dresses paired with Mary Jane shoes. While fashion trends tend to cycle back over time, it’s intriguing to consider whether Prince William and Kate drew inspiration from historical images.
Back in March 1990, when Princess Beatrice was just 18 months old, she was captured outside The Portland Hospital in London as she arrived to meet her newborn sister, Princess Eugenie. The young Princess looked absolutely charming in a hand-smocked dress adorned with blue and red hues, featuring puffed sleeves and a Peter Pan collar. Complementing the ensemble were white tights and red Mary Jane shoes.
In the past few years, there was an occasion when Princess Charlotte donned an outfit that bore a striking resemblance to an attire worn at a children’s event while Prince William and Kate were on their royal tour of Canada in 2016.
The little one was attired in a blue hand-smocked dress featuring intricate coral embroidery, frilled puff sleeves, and a Peter Pan collar. The dress was from the brand Pepa & Co. Alongside this ensemble, she had on blue Mary Jane shoes. Additionally, Princess Charlotte possesses another pair of Mary Janes in a maroon shade, sourced from the brand Doña Carmen.
Additional photographs from the 1990s capture Princess Beatrice donning hair bows, a style that has now become closely associated with Princess Charlotte. The latter royal has been seen wearing hair accessories from the brand Amaia Kids.
Princess Beatrice holds the position of the older sibling in relation to Princess Eugenie. Despite their royal status, the sisters enjoy a heartwarming connection.
Charlotte is not the sole member of the royal family who shares a likeness with her second cousin, Beatrice.
During the recent summer, Princess Lilibet, the two-year-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was photographed at a Fourth of July parade in Montecito. These images, which were posted by the New York Post, depict Lilibet dressed in a blue hand-smocked dress adorned with a paisley print. Her attire is completed with white socks and red buckled shoes. This outfit bears a resemblance to the outfits worn by Princess Beatrice and Princess Charlotte during their early years, as seen in childhood photographs.
