Princess Anne looks so elegant in red satin dress on Gibraltar trip

The Princess Royal is in Gibraltar for a brief weekend stay, and her initial ensemble for the trip is as sophisticated as you’d imagine. Accompanied by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, the 73-year-old royal arrived for an event dear to her heart.

Princess Anne adorned a satin midi-length dress in a rich scarlet hue. The dress boasted a high neck, long sleeves, and a charming skirt detail with pleats from the knee down. In her typical fashion, the royal styled her hair in a simple updo and kept her makeup natural.

Before the evening event, Anne was seen wearing chic trousers in a tan shade with a black check pattern and a black mid-length coat.

She arrived ahead of the Gibraltar International Literary Festival, as the Princess serves as the event’s Royal Patron. Her speech at the opening emphasized the significance of literature in Gibraltar.

Earlier in the day, the King’s sister attended a presentation with Festival guest speaker Dame Mary Berry. The royal’s schedule remains busy.

Her Royal Highness will also visit Bassadone Automotive Group, a major independent automotive company in Europe. Princess Anne will tour the workshop, meet the staff, and unveil a plaque to commemorate her visit.

Additionally, she will visit the Gibraltar offices of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Her Royal Highness will learn about their support to communities in legal and financial matters.

Before returning to England, the Princess Royal will inaugurate the newly renovated premises of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Association.

The government of Gibraltar shared pictures from the Princess’s first night on its official page. The post stated: “The Princess Royal and the Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo KC MP, addressed authors and guests at the opening dinner of the Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival, held at the Sunborn Hotel.”

Princess Anne faced travel issues arriving at the event. Her flight was diverted to Malaga due to heavy fog, along with Dame Mary Berry and Theresa May. The royal was then transported to Gibraltar by minibus, three hours later than expected.

Former Prime Minister Theresa May attended the Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival, where Chief Minister Fabian Picardo KC MP interviewed her about her bestselling book, “The Abuse of Power: Confronting Injustice in Public Life.”

Lately, Princess Anne has showcased impressive style, reminiscent of Princess Kate. During a visit to Cumbria, she opted for elegant cigarette-shaped trousers while digging a hole in Barrow-in-Furness.

The royal mother-of-two also displayed a penchant for color coordination, wearing a bright red scarf and jumper combo.

Princess Anne is known to don traditional attire for poignant events. While other members of the royal family wore tasteful black dresses to Remembrance events, Princess Anne, the late Queen’s daughter, wore her ceremonial Royal Navy uniform.

Although the Princess has never served in the military, she holds numerous military titles and honors. Conducting hundreds of royal engagements each year, she fulfills her various military patronages and affiliations.
