Prince William voted most likely leader to unite US as he tops new poll

A new poll by Gallup found that Prince William is the most popular public figure in the United States, with a 59% favorable rating. This is higher than any other American figure, including President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. The poll also found that Prince William is viewed favorably by both Republicans and Democrats, with 65% of Republicans and 63% of Democrats saying they have a favorable opinion of him. This suggests that Prince William may be able to serve as a unifying figure in the United States, as he is someone that both Republicans and Democrats can agree on.

Prince William narrowly beat out Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the top spot in a poll of American public figures. Both men earned a majority approval rating, with 59% of Americans saying they have a favorable opinion of Prince William and 57% saying the same of Zelenskyy. Russian President Vladimir Putin was at the bottom of the list, with only 5% of Americans saying they have a favorable opinion of him. William’s father, King Charles, received an approval rating of 46%.

Although Prince William received 37% unfavorable opinions, he was still more popular than unpopular with voters. This is in contrast to back-to-back Presidents Trump and Biden, who both received 41% favorable opinions.

Prince William received the majority of his support from middle-aged and older adults. Only 38% of 18- to 34-year-olds viewed him favorably. He is also viewed more positively by American women (69%) than men (50%).

Gallup suggests that Prince William’s popularity among older American women may be due to fond memories of his mother, Princess Diana.

Prince Harry’s comments in his book “Spare” have left relations with his brother Prince William at an all-time low. In the book, Harry spoke about an alleged physical altercation between the brothers in which William shoved his younger sibling to the ground. He also claims that William called Meghan Markle “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.”

Royal expert Robert Jobson said that trust has broken down between the Royal Family and the Sussexes. He said, “There’s also a lot of lack of trust. At the moment between all the members of the family and Harry about where this information is going, because a lot of stuff has appeared in print by him.”
