King Felipe and Queen Letizia reunite with Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia

In the realm of Spanish nobility, King Felipe and Queen Letizia recently partook in a familial gathering, gracing the city of Oviedo with their regal presence on a splendid evening.

Princess Leonor, poised to celebrate her 18th birthday in a matter of weeks, and her younger sibling, Infanta Sofia, at the age of 16, accompanied their royal progenitors to the Asturias Awards Concert.

Queen Letizia, who has reached the age of 51, adorned herself in a resplendent pink blouse with puff sleeves, a creation by Maria Barragan, a fitting homage to International Breast Cancer Awareness Day. She harmoniously coupled her top with impeccably tailored black trousers and matching stiletto heels.

Sofia exhibited a flair for fashion in a navy jumpsuit adorned with intricate graphic details, while Leonor’s sartorial choice consisted of a monochrome floral dress from H&M.

The following morning, the Spanish monarchy convened with members of the Princess of Asturias Foundation’s board, in preparation for the upcoming 2023 awards ceremony.

Queen Letizia, in her sartorial elegance, opted for a trouser suit resplendent in shades of pink. Princess Leonor, in synchronization with her mother, graced the occasion in a silk shirt dress. Infanta Sofia, the epitome of elegance, donned a cream tweed dress paired with slingback shoes.

It has been a span of two months since the last public appearance of the royal sisters. Sofia bade her elder sister a heartfelt farewell as Leonor embarked on her journey at the military academy back in August.

A mere two days later, Sofia bid an emotional adieu to her parents as she embarked on a sojourn to the United Kingdom to further her education.

The young royal is presently pursuing her International Baccalaureate at UWC Atlantic College, nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Wales. The Spanish royal palace generously shared glimpses of her arrival on the campus.

The college itself is ensconced within the ancient walls of the 12th-century St Donat’s Castle, situated along the southern fringes of the Welsh coastline. This illustrious institution boasts an array of amenities, including a well-appointed library, expansive woodlands, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and classrooms nestled within venerable edifices.

Princess Leonor, in a prior chapter of her academic journey, graduated from UWC Atlantic College back in May, a momentous occasion following the successful completion of the intensive two-year International Baccalaureate program.

It’s worth noting that this prestigious institution has attracted students from royal lineages around the world, with notable alumni encompassing Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands alongside his middle daughter, Princess Alexia, and Princess Raiyah of Jordan.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s regal obligations are abundant, including Queen Letizia’s notable contribution on World Mental Health Day earlier this month.

King Felipe’s nuptials to the former news anchor, Letizia, took place in 2005, and the fruit of their union, Princess Leonor, arrived the subsequent year. Infanta Sofia, their second daughter, was born in April 2007.

The Spanish royal couple is poised to commemorate the tenth anniversary of King Felipe’s ascension in 2024, a monumental event following his accession to the throne subsequent to the abdication of his father, Juan Carlos I, in June 2014.
