In her capacity as the Christmas Seal Foundation’s esteemed patron, Crown Princess Mary graced the occasion at Copenhagen City Hall to partake in the unveiling of the Christmas Seal for the year 2023. This exquisite emblem for the holiday season, marking its presence, was meticulously crafted by the adept wordsmith and artist, Lisa Grue. Julemærkefonden, a philanthropic institution of Danish origin, oversees the operation of five distinct Christmas Seal abodes dedicated to delivering indispensable assistance to underprivileged young souls.
In attendance were also Count Ingolf of Rosenborg and his consort, Countess Sussie of Rosenborg, renowned as dedicated supporters of the Julemærkemarch, or the Christmas Stamp March. The esteemed ambassadors representing the Julemærkehjemmenes, the sanctuaries of the Christmas Stamp Homes, also graced this auspicious gathering.
The Christmas Seal is issued on an annual basis by the Foundation with the primary objective of funding its vital services. This time-honored tradition has been in practice since the year 1904, where the Foundation has consistently released this distinctive emblem to gather funds in support of children dwelling in one of Denmark’s five Christmas Stamp Homes.
