Princess Kate looked stunning on Friday as she visited Sebby’s Corner, a baby bank in Barnet. This visit marked the beginning of an initiative by The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
Sebby’s Corner serves families in need across Barnet, Hertfordshire, and London, providing crucial support to families with young children, especially during the lead-up to Christmas. Baby banks play a vital role in helping families facing various challenges.
Assisting with Christmas Preparations
During her visit, Princess Kate was photographed helping the team stock up the Christmas grotto, preparing for families to choose toys for their children.
The Centre for Early Childhood is encouraging the public to contribute funds, products, pre-loved items, or volunteer their time to support local baby banks throughout December.
This cause holds personal significance for Princess Kate, aligning with her Shaping Us campaign, which emphasizes the importance of early experiences.
Decorating the Christmas Grotto
Kate enthusiastically joined the team, along with Shaping Us champion Giovanna Fletcher, to add the final touches to Sebby’s Christmas Grotto.
Kate’s Winter Look
The Princess looked effortlessly chic in a dark brown roll-neck jumper paired with a matching corduroy skirt. Her chestnut tresses were styled in her signature bouncy blow-dry inspired curls, and she completed the look with elegant black suede boots and a waist-cinching brown belt.
Discussions with Organizers
Kate learned about the vital work of baby banks across the UK from Bianca Sakol, Founder of Sebby’s Corner, and Emma Park, Operations Manager. They discussed how these banks provide essential items like clothing, nappies, toiletries, and baby equipment to families in need.
In the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, baby banks have experienced a year-on-year increase in referrals, with midwives, health visitors, and teachers nominating families.
Arrival with Warmth
Arriving at Sebby’s Corner, Kate wore a cozy chestnut-hued coat. There are over 200 baby banks across the country, all currently facing a growing demand for their services.
