Princess Anne captured our attention when she graced Thursday afternoon’s splendid reception in a resplendent ensemble. The Princess Royal graced a gathering hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace, expressing personal gratitude to all those involved in orchestrating the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral and the King’s Coronation earlier this spring.
Princess Anne radiated her characteristic elegance in an understated yet sophisticated attire. The regal lady, aged 73, opted for a pristine white tweed shift dress accentuated by black gloves, exuding an aura of grace.
She adorned herself with a paisley-print scarf in pastel hues to introduce a touch of visual intrigue. Completing the ensemble, she slung a black leather crossbody bag from a single shoulder.
As anticipated, the Princess Royal styled her hair in her signature bouffant fashion and donned minimal makeup, featuring a rosy satin lip.
However, the true focal point of Princess Anne’s latest appearance was her opulent jewelry. The King’s sister adorned herself with a gold short chain necklace, a gold brooch, which bore a captivating knot-like design peeking from beneath her scarf, and the pièce de résistance – a pair of gold earrings adorned with diamonds and centered with a lustrous pearl.
The Princess Royal seemed to have heeded the white attire directive from her sister-in-law, Queen Camilla. The Queen appeared resplendent in an ivory gown with a scalloped neckline and long sleeves, complemented by Chanel two-tone mid-heeled pumps in a fusion of black and beige.
The King’s consort, too, embraced regal jewelry, donning a heraldic Tudor crown embellished with diamonds, a ruby, sapphire, and an emerald at its base. Her look was finalized with gold adornments, notably a Van Cleef & Arpels ‘Alhambra’ five-motif 18-carat yellow gold and agate bracelet.
The reception warmly welcomed representatives and coordinators from various sectors, including government, law enforcement, media, the ecclesiastical realm, and civil organizations, all of whom played pivotal roles in orchestrating the late Queen’s funeral in the past year and the King’s coronation at Westminster Abbey in May. Notable attendees included the individuals who spearheaded both events and distinguished figures such as royal photographer Chris Jackson and British composer Roxanna Panufnik.
Princess Anne has graced numerous royal engagements of late. She recently reunited with Monaco’s Prince Albert in Mumbai, India, for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session. Both Princess Anne and Prince Albert are esteemed IOC members, having competed in the Olympics themselves – Princess Anne in the three-day equestrian event at the 1976 Montreal Games, and Prince Albert as part of Monaco’s bobsleigh team at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary 1988, Albertville 1992, Lillehammer 1994, Nagano 1998, and Salt Lake City 2002.
The royal recently revisited her former boarding school, the Benenden School in Kent, to participate in the Centenary Global Conference themed ‘Inspiring Future Female Leaders.’ The Princess donned a scarlet tartan coat adorned with red accents, and her presence was commemorated via a special Facebook post shared by the school.
The post read: “Her address delved into the evolving facets of leadership in the age of social media, the role of education in instilling life skills beyond mere academics, and the ever-changing essence of leadership in the public eye.”
These recent public appearances come shortly after her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, aged 68, undertook a prestigious new role as the patron of the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF), the world’s preeminent organization dedicated to the development and enhancement of maritime search and rescue capabilities.
