Upon the date of October 17, 2023, Crown Princess Victoria graced a UNDP symposium convened at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Within the confines of this symposium, Crown Princess Victoria was formally entrusted with the esteemed position of a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The UNDP, a formidable force active in approximately 170 nations, is fervently dedicated to the eradication of destitution, the mitigation of disparities, and the eradication of social exclusion.
In a testament to the Crown Princess’ unwavering dedication to issues related to the environment and the climate, she found herself appointed by the then Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, to be one amongst the elite group of 17 Advocates from 2016 to 2019, tasked with advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
For an extended period, the United Nations Development Programme, in concert with its fellow UN agencies, has harnessed the altruistic services and patronage of notable luminaries. These luminaries assume the roles of Goodwill Ambassadors and Advocates, lending their influential voices to cast an illuminating spotlight upon critical global issues that impact both the Earth and its inhabitants.
