The Church council meeting serves as the Swedish Church’s supreme decision-making authority. Preceding the meeting, Bishop Erik Eckerdal led an opening service at Uppsala Cathedral. Annually, Uppsala Cathedral serves as the venue for the General Synod, which is the highest decision-making body of the Church of Sweden.
