The Princess of Wales pleasantly surprised everyone with a speech at last night’s Children in Need live event on BBC One, and she looked absolutely stunning.
Kate, aged 41, spoke in front of a blue backdrop, wearing a royal blue Lisou London ‘Betty Rainbow’ printed shirt adorned with tiny rainbows. The shirt had hidden buttons leading up to a neat triangular collar and elegant puff sleeves that cinched at the elbow.
She paired the shirt with belted black trousers, giving the outfit a casual vibe that could easily pass as jeans. True to her royal style, the Princess wore her hair in glamorous waves with new curtain bangs framing both eyes.
Fans keen on Princess Kate’s fashion may have noticed that she had worn the cheerful shirt before. In 2020, she wore the rainbow-adorned blouse during a visit to St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London when she and Prince William presented NHS frontline heroes with a Pride of Britain award for their efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This time around, Kate paired the blouse with navy belted trousers, a matching single-breasted navy blazer, and her go-to pointed-toe heels. During the award presentation, Prince William expressed gratitude, saying, “On behalf of a grateful nation, it is a tremendous honour for Catherine and I to present this special recognition award to the army of dedicated NHS staff.”
Kate delivered an equally important speech at last night’s Children in Need event, which annually raises millions of pounds for children and families across the UK in need. The event successfully raised over £33 million.
In her opening remarks, the royal mother-of-three emphasized, “Tonight is all about helping to support, champion, and empower all children to be the very best they can be, which is crucial for their future health and happiness.”
HRH continued, “Our relationships, surroundings, and experiences during the earliest years lay the foundations that shape the rest of our lives. Yet, sadly, we know that for too many people, stressful and traumatic situations in early childhood can cause harm and it can take many years to overcome.”
Kate stressed the importance of nurturing every childhood, describing why projects supported by Children In Need “are so important.” She noted that these initiatives help the youngest, most vulnerable members of society feel safe, secure, and loved during their formative years, allowing them to enjoy their childhoods and grow to reach their potential.
The co-hosts for last night’s event were Alex Scott, Mel Giedroyc, Chris Ramsey, Lenny Rush, Ade Adepitan, and Jason Manford. Highlights included the announcement that Vernon Kay’s ultra-marathon had raised over £5 million and a touching performance from Strictly’s Nadiya Bychkova with a young girl named Brianna, who has benefited from Children in Need.
Princess Kate, who has been making impressive fashion choices all week, also delivered a significant keynote speech last week related to her ‘Shaping Us’ campaign, aiming to enhance public understanding of childhood development.
She appeared in a beautiful Emilia Wickstead purple power suit paired with navy suede heels. The royal had previously worn the suit open with a black roll neck during a 2021 visit to Northern Ireland.
