The Prince and Princess of Wales may attend a royal wedding in the New Year, as The Sultan of Brunei has confirmed that his son, Prince Abdul Mateen, is set to marry Anisha Isa Kalebic in January 2024. Prince Abdul Mateen, who is 32 years old and the youngest son of The Sultan, is the last of the couple’s children to get married, following his elder sisters Princess Fadzilah and Princess Azemah, who married in January 2022 and 2023, respectively. An official announcement from the palace, made by the royal command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei Darussalam, states that the wedding will take place from January 7 to 16, 2024. The festivities will commence with the proposal of marriage ceremony to receive the Royal Command, followed by performances by royal court musicians to formally kick off the royal wedding celebrations.
The marriage vows will be solemnized on January 11th at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. The most significant event during the week-long celebration is the Royal Wedding Reception, which will be followed by an opulent royal banquet. Guests from various parts of the world are expected to attend.
While it remains unconfirmed whether the Prince and Princess of Wales will attend Prince Abdul Mateen and Anisha Isa Kalebic’s wedding, there is a strong possibility that at least one member of the British royal family will be present at some point during the festivities.
The Sultan and Queen of Brunei were included in the guest list for Prince William and Princess Kate’s enchanting royal wedding in 2011. Given this previous connection, it appears probable that they would reciprocate by extending an invitation to their son’s wedding.
The most recent instance of the Prince and Princess of Wales attending a royal wedding was in June when they participated in the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and his bride Rajwa Al Saif.
The Princess of Wales appeared absolutely stunning in an exquisite Jenny Packham dress, adorned with the Lover’s Knot tiara that once belonged to the late Princess Diana, and she also wore the late Queen’s dazzling Greville Chandelier earrings.
