Harry, the Duke of Sussex, celebrated Independence Day on July 4 near his residence in Montecito, along with his daughter, Princess Lilibet.
Local residents captured the special father-daughter outing as they observed the Montecito Association’s Village RoadShow on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
Photographs published by the Daily Mail depict Harry in a casual outfit, wearing a long-sleeved khaki shirt tucked into dark denim jeans.
He maintained a low profile by wearing a matching army green baseball cap. Lili, who is two years old, looked adorable in a charming blue floral dress with a peter pan collar.
She completed her outfit with knee-high white socks and bright red shoes. Her beautiful strawberry blonde hair was styled in pigtails, which seems to be her preferred hairstyle.
According to the Montecito Journal, the roadshow commenced at Montecito Union School and proceeded along San Ysidro Road towards East Valley.
The event featured a procession of “25 vintage and modern vehicles driven by community leaders and representatives from local organizations.”
Princess Lilibet and her father observed as novelty cars, Model T Fords, ambulances, and fire trucks, adorned with patriotic red, white, and blue decorations,
paraded through the streets. This annual celebration takes place in a neighborhood cherished by celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.
Their choice to spend the day in their hometown follows their previous year’s celebration in Wyoming. In 2022, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed the July 4 weekend with their longtime friend Heather Dorak.
The Sussexes were spotted watching the parade in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole valley, although the photos shared on Facebook have since been deleted.
Heather Dorak, founder of Pilates Platinum, a pilates studio with multiple locations in Los Angeles, is not only a close friend of the couple but also contributed to Meghan’s former lifestyle blog, The Tig.
On July 4th, Americans celebrate Independence Day, which commemorates the ratification of the country’s Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
This pivotal event marked the establishment of the United States of America as an independent nation, separate from Great Britain and King George.
In previous years, Meghan was observed on this American holiday attending Wimbledon 2019 and cheering for Serena Williams. She was accompanied by two close friends from university, Genevieve Hillis and Lindsay Roth.
Additionally, Meghan watched Serena play in the annual tennis tournament on July 4, 2016, just days before her second date with Harry at Soho House.
In his autobiography, Spare, Harry recounts a special moment during their early courtship. He describes waiting for Meghan, who arrived wearing a lovely blue sundress with white pinstripes.
Harry presented her with a pink box, urging her not to shake it. They shared a laugh, and upon opening the box, Meghan discovered red, white, and blue cupcakes in honor of Independence Day.
Harry humorously commented on the different perspectives the British and Americans have regarding this holiday, to which Meghan responded positively, noting the cupcakes’ amazing appearance.
